ana expands haneda international routes

ANA has inaugurated five international routes connecting tokyo Haneda Airport with Los Angeles, Honolulu, Singapore, Bangkok, and Taipei (Songshan). This initiative ties in with the resumption of international scheduled flight operations from Haneda, which take effect on October 31, 2010.

“We have long been waiting to operate international scheduled flights from Haneda Airport and we are extremely pleased with the news. We would like to express our gratitude to all those who have worked hard towards the internationalization of Haneda,” said Shinichiro Ito, President and CEO of ANA. “Customers will find international flights to and from Haneda increasingly convenient, as this airport is easy to access from downtown Tokyo and offers fast connections to Haneda’s domestic network. These new services, combined with our existing flights to and from Narita Airport, will allow us to offer our customers unprecedented convenience and flexibility to their journeys. We look forward to this autumn’s new services and we will keep on striving to improve our network for the convenience of our customers.”

Furthermore, ANA will increase the number of U.S. domestic destinations that customers can access via ANA's Haneda=Los Angeles service, utilizing the carrier's continued co-operation with its U.S. partners in Star Alliance; United Airlines, Continental Airlines, and US Airways.
ANA is to begin operating international code-share flights from Haneda with Air Canada (AC), Air China (CA), Asiana Airlines (OZ), Singapore Airlines (SQ), and Thai Airways International (TG), all members of Star Alliance, as well as with Eva Airways (BR) and Malaysia Airlines (MH).

The expansion at Haneda follows completion of a new international terminal at the airport, from where international passengers will be able to access more than 200 Japanese domestic flights and rapid connections to central Tokyo. The Haneda plan complements ANA's strong presence at Tokyo's Narita airport, Japan's primary international hub.

[Total 11 routes and 44 daily flights out of Haneda]

Under the plan, ANA's has reached agreement with seven airlines that will enable the Japanese carrier to offer 11 international routes and up to 44 overseas flights a day from Haneda, almost doubling the daily flight frequency and expanding the route network by a third.

ANA's operation of nine international routes will be increased with two new routes as code-shares within the ANA network; Haneda=Vancouver route operated by Air Canada and Haneda=Kota Kinabalu route operated by Malaysia Airlines. Moreover, ANA will start code-shares on four flights to Singapore with Singapore Airlines, two flights to Bangkok with Thai Airways International, two flights to Seoul (Gimpo) with Asiana Airlines, two flights to Beijing with Air China, and four flights to Taipei (Songshan) with Eva Airways.
