Frontier MSP to Kansas City nonstop flights

Beginning today, travelers wishing to visit the home of cool jazz and hot barbeque for business or pleasure have a new option to fly low cost airlines Frontier non-stop service to Kansas City International Airport.

Frontier Airlines will offer two flights a day Monday through Saturday and one flight on Sundays from MSP to Kansas City International with departures at 9:15 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., depending on day of the week. Return flights arrive at 8:45 a.m. and 3:55 p.m., depending on day of the week.Frontier is pleased to provide low introductory fares on new routes

"The introduction of a competitive air service alternative for people flying between the Twin Cities and Kansas City is great for consumers, providing more scheduling options and keeping fares in check," said Jeff Hamiel, executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which owns and operates Minneapolis-St. Paul International (MSP) and six general aviation airports. "I am very pleased to see Frontier Airlines expand operations at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport."

“Our new service between Minneapolis and Kansas City highlights Frontier’s commitment to providing our guests affordable and convenient travel to more destinations,” said Daniel Shurz, vice president of strategy and planning. “With our better and different service, we’re looking forward to providing travelers a choice in how they travel.”

Frontier Airlines recently introduced new, lower fares on flights to and from Kansas City. Schedules, connections and fares are available at FrontierAirlines.com.

The new Minneapolis-Kansas City route will be served by Embraer 190 aircraft, which seat 99 passengers, and Embraer 170 aircraft, which seat 76. The aircraft feature four rows of STRETCH seating, which offer five additional inches of legroom.

Delta is the only other airline offering non-stop service between MSP and Kansas City.

Delta airlines flights MSP to Reno,Nevada

Delta Airlines offer nonstop service between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Reno,Nevada.beginning June 6 2009

Minneapolis (MSP) is a hub airport in the recently-merged Delta-Northwest system and will provide excellent connections to international flights in Europe and Canada.

The Saturday-only service will be offered between June 6 and Sept. 6 and will feature a 124-seat Airbus 319. In the wake of the Delta-Northwest Airlines merger,
The flight will depart MSP at 9:15 a.m. arriving in Reno at 11 a.m. The return flight will depart Reno at noon arriving in MSP at 5:20 p.m.

the new flight is an example of the airline’s new business approach to schedule flights based on peak day and peak season. The once-a-week flight provides an opportunity to prove to the airlines that the Reno-Tahoe community deserves a daily non-stop flight.

“This new seasonal service is a test for our community,” Krys T. Bart, President/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said. “It’s truly a case of use it or lose it. We have delivered a new flight and now it’s up to our community to fill the seats.” Airport officials have been working feverishly to maintain and enhance air service during these challenging economic times. “Adding a flight to a hub airport in these economic times is a huge accomplishment for Reno-Tahoe International,” Bart said. “And we are committed to working diligently to add more flights. We have 25 airline meetings set this year.”

There is currently no non-stop airline service between Reno and Minneapolis. In 2005, Northwest Airlines discontinued a highly successful daily non-stop flight between Reno and Minneapolis as a result of the airline’s bankruptcy. “Our community filled seats to Minneapolis before, and I know we can do it again,” Bart said.

Falcon business jet Service Center at Reno Airport

RENO, NV -- Reno-Tahoe International Airport is the new home of the West Coast service center for international aviation manufacturer Dassault Falcon.

The French-owned business jet manufacturer has unveiled the nearly 40,000 square foot factory-owned service center. The service center will eventually be staffed by over 40 highly skilled Dassault Falcon personnel. They will also support a ‘Go Team’ to provide rapid mobile response directly to an aircraft location anywhere in the United States with the parts and tools necessary to get a Falcon flying with minimal delay.

Krys T. Bart, President/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said the new service center will raise the international profile of the airport by attracting Dassault Falcon aircraft from Canada and Central America. “We are thrilled today to announce the newest member of the family of businesses at Reno-Tahoe International.” Bart said. “In these challenging economic times, it is a true honor to welcome an international business like Dassault to our region and to our airport.”

“The western United States has experienced a sharp increase in demand for new Falcons over the past five years,” said John Rosanvallon, President and CEO of Dassault Falcon. “This facility in Reno is significant for not only the increased support in that part of the country but also the overall coverage that this adds for the entire United States.”

Dassault Falcon is responsible for selling and supporting Falcon business jets throughout the world. It is part of Dassault Aviation, a leading aerospace company with a presence in over 70 countries across 5 continents. Dassault Aviation produces the renowned Mirage and Rafale fighter jets as well as a complete line of Falcon business jets. The company has assembly and production plants in both France and the United States and service facilities on both continents. It employs a total workforce of over 12,000. Since the rollout of the first Falcon 20 in 1963, over 1,950 Falcon jets have been delivered to more than 65 countries worldwide.

American Eagle fly the Reno-Los Angeles route with three Embraer ERJ-140, 44 seat Regional Jets. The new flights give American Airlines a combination of 14 arrivals and departures each day to Chicago, Dallas and now Los Angeles. “These additional flights highlight how American Airlines provides Reno with amazing one-stop connections around the world through three of the largest hub airports in the United States,” Bart said.

The announcement is the latest in a series of air service accomplishments at RNO. Over the past six months, Reno-Tahoe International has announced 16 additional flights while other airports across the country are still struggling to regain service lost through the challenging economy. “American Eagle adding service and flights is a demonstration of how hard this airport is working to help the economic recovery in this region,” Krys Bart, president/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport, said. “We appreciate the confidence and support American Airlines is showing our community.”

United airlines flights to Reno from Houston

Continental airlines launched new daily nonstop flight Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) to Houston, TX beginning February 17, 2011.

As part of the recent merger between Continental and United Airlines, the new flight will begin under the Continental name and will serve Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport. The IAH RNO flight will operate a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 155 seats available.

The new flight will depart Houston at 9:00 a.m. on flight #1470 and arrive in Reno at 11:05 a.m. The return flight will leave Reno at 11:37 a.m. as flight #1480 and arrive in Houston IAH at 4:59 p.m. Tickets reservation are available at www.continental.com

“This is tremendous news for the community,” said Krys Bart, President and CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. “We couldn’t be happier to have the return of this outstanding service that offers travelers the ease of connections not only to the east, but to South America and beyond.” Non-stop to Houston is not a new route to users of the Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

Continental flew the Reno-Houston route for several years but had to end service in September of 2008 due to the spike in fuel prices. The previous Houston flight performed very well thanks to strong community support.

“One of the benefits of an airline merger is the ability to optimize the combined routes of two carriers, in this case United and Continental,” said Bart. “But what’s most important is the end result that gives passengers more flight options. Houston service truly supports the Reno- Tahoe International Airport motto of providing non-stop service to the U.S. and one-stop service to the world.”

aa one way Flex Award tickets

American Airlines introduced an exciting new feature called "One-Way Flex Awards." One-Way Flex Awards offer a whole new approach to frequent flyer award travel, creating even greater value for AAdvantage members.American is the first major domestic airline to offer a one-way award ticket at a true one-way price at just one-half the amount of the required round-trip miles.
The One-Way Flex feature gives AAdvantage members more options when redeeming award travel, offering - for the first time - the ability to use miles on a one-way basis at half the round-trip mileage requirement. Customers can get further details on One-Way Flex Awards and view an online demo, at www.aa.com/flexawards.

At the same time, American is offering AAdvantage members who travel round trip the ability to combine different types of one-way awards on a single ticket. Therefore, customers may now combine MileSAAver(R) awards with AAnytime(R) awards, or economy class awards with First or Business Class awards, to customize award travel to best meet their needs.

With One-Way Flex Awards, there are no changes to AAnytime or MileSAAver mileage requirements - just more options, value and greater flexibility. Customers can now redeem awards on a one-way basis or combine multiple award types on a single round-trip ticket - a true "win-win" for customers.

"Since the AAdvantage program was launched in 1981, American has continuously made improvements that make the program more valuable for our members and ensure our industry leadership position," said Rob Friedman, President - AAdvantage Marketing Programs. "Our One-Way Flex feature takes frequent flyer award travel to a whole new level by offering customers unprecedented options and flexibility."

One-Way Flex Awards give AAdvantage members the flexibility to combine different one-way awards on a single itinerary. For instance, a member may travel outbound on an Economy Class MileSAAver award and return on an economy class AAnytime award. Or, a member may choose to travel in different classes of service on a trip, such as traveling outbound in Business or First Class and returning in Economy Class.

AAdvantage members can now redeem one-way awards at a one-way price. If a member is only traveling one-way, or doesn't have a return date in mind, the member can simply book one-way tickets for half the round-trip miles. For example, a customer may fly one-way using a domestic MileSAAver economy class ticket for 12,500 miles - half the amount required for a round-trip domestic award, which currently requires 25,000 miles.

AAdvantage members may book One-Way Flex Awards by using the newly enhanced, easy-to-read, color-coded availability calendar on AA.com, allowing members to determine the dates, flights and award types that work best for them.

Even More Enhancements for Award Travel on AA.com
Customers who prefer doing business in Spanish now can book AAdvantage award travel online in Spanish. The new Spanish-language tool is accessed by clicking "Espanol" on the AA.com home page or by accessing one of the country-specific, Spanish-language portals American offers at www.aa.com/espanol.

In addition to introducing One-Way Flex awards, American has enhanced AA.com to make booking AAdvantage award travel online even more convenient. Now, members can:

Book multi-city award trips on AA.com, which is especially helpful for members who need to travel to more than one city in a single trip. Customers now can book up to four one-way awards at one time, an expansion from previous capabilities that allowed booking only round-trip travel. Multi-city award booking also allows customers to book travel into one city and return from another. For example, travel to London but return from Paris

get cheap airfare from email alert

FareCompare airfare email alert service is the fastest way for consumers to learn about flights deals. The service gives subscribers the edge in booking cheap seats by alerting them to new low fares up to four hours before these fares are published on airline and travel agency web sites.

"With this alert system, consumers are reaping the benefits of our five-year investment in building the fastest airfare processing system available," commented Rick Seaney, FareCompare.com CEO. "For the first time consumers can view information previously only accessible to the airlines. No other subscription service provides this information." At any one time, there are as many as 20 million fares in the FareCompare system. Airlines constantly manage pricing with three fare changes a day. Just like the stock market, it is virtually impossible to predict which fares will change and when. A cheap plane tickets may be introduced at 10 a.m., only to be removed three hours later. Before FareCompare's alerts, consumers would only stumble onto these new lower fares by accident. FareCompare provides consumers with a 4-hour time window to be the first to know about new air tickets in the U.S. and Canada. For instance, on August 7, the lowest fare from Cleveland to Palm Springs was $360. On August 8, the lowest fare went down to $109 for three hours, and then went back up to $320 that same day. FareCompare subscribers were alerted to the price decrease as soon as it happened.

"Actively tracking a market makes sense," says Seaney. "If you look at FareCompare's historical average fares charts, you can see how quickly and unpredictably fares change. Look at the fare from Atlanta to New York City. It was $108 on August 30. The next day the price jumped to $184. On September 24th the price was $248 -- an increase of $140 in less than 30 days." Consumers can subscribe to alerts for new low fares from any airport and for a specific market. Alerts indicate the savings and rate it with two, three, or four stars. A four-star rating means the fare is at or near the historical lowest fare for that particular route.

when are airline tickets updated

SmarterTravel.com, a comprehensive online travel resource, has compiled guidelines and advice to help travelers weather the busy holiday travel season. During what is typically the busiest travel time of the year with higher-than-average airfares and
crowded airports and roads, SmarterTravel's tips will help ease travel-related stress, as well as save consumers money on expensive flights and hotels.
When asked "How do budget travelers book cheap plane tickets during peak season?" Mr. Miller said, "The day and even the time you book could save you big cash. Always check airline tickets on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday overnight. Airlines will update their fares through what is called a Global Distribution System (GDS) during this time and that could make a big difference on your wallet in the end." Mr. Miller also added, "Another good tactic to add to your quest for low fares is to sign up for email fare alerts. You can provide the market you are interested in flying to, and emails can be sent to you on a regular basis to inform you when fares are increasing or decreasing."
Airlines constantly manage pricing with three fare changes a day. Just like the stock market, it is virtually impossible to predict which fares will change and when. A low fare may be introduced at 12 a.m. midnight, only to be removed three hours later.
Regarding leisure travel, Mr. Miller explained, "Leisure travel has become affordable now more than ever before. Many luxury hotels and resorts are lowering rates due to the poor economy and airlines, while not as low as 2009 fares, have many more affordable deals right now than in recent history."

Mr. Miller's quick tips for booking cheap tickets include: "Always be flexible with your search, as it has been proven that people who can leave a day earlier or later wind up saving big bucks in the end. Going to an airline direct will limit what you see to just that airline. Searching across multiple airlines provides you the best opportunity to get the best fare available."

He also added, "If you're looking to travel this year, but just do not have the time or funds, why not take a vacation closer to home. While the word 'staycation' might turn some people off, you can actually make the most out of travel without going far away. Two ways to get a break from everyday life without going into major debt are to look for deals under $199 for a weekend getaway to a nearby state or stay at a hotel in your own city."

Canada’s second largest city will be served with three-flights-a-week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. The non-stop journey from the airline’s hub in Doha to Montreal’s Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport will be a total flying time of 13 hrs 20 minutes.
The destination marks Qatar Airways’ first foray into Canada following a series of bilateral negotiations in Doha last year, when the airline secured rights to fly passenger and cargo flights to the country.
Montreal becomes the airline’s fourth destination in North America. The award-winning airline, ranked Five Star for service, excellence and high standards, currently operates daily flights to New York, Washington and Houston.

Qatar Airways is the first Gulf carrier to operate flights to Montreal, a city renowned for its festivals and arts scene, being home to the well established international dance troupe Cirque du Soleil, the IMAX cinemas, aircraft manufacturing company Bombardier and top-ranked universities world-wide, McGill and Concordia.

The DOHA – MONTREAL schedules are:

Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Depart Doha QR927 at 0830hrs, arrive in YUL at 1450 hrs

Depart YUL QR928 at 2315hrs, arrive in Doh at 1840 hrs the following day

Qatar Airways Boeing 777 Will Operate To Montreal From 29 June

Qatar is home to more than 3,000 Canadian citizens and two Canadian university satellite campuses, The College of the North Atlantic and the University of Calgary.

Canadian nationals arriving in Qatar may enter the country without prior visa arrangements. Passengers with Qatar as their end destination may enter by obtaining a visa on arrival, a service extended to 33 countries, with Canada being one of them.

The Boeing 777 on the Montreal route has a two-class operation, offering 42 seats in Business in a spacious 2–2–2 cabin layout, with a seat pitch of 78 inches that is already the envy of competitor airlines as the seats stretch into lie-flat beds, a key demand of the corporate traveller.

In Economy, the Boeing 777 offers 217 seats in a 3–3–3 configuration with a pitch of up to 34-inch, which is among the most generous of any international airline flying wide-body aircraft on long-haul routes.

The in-flight interactive entertainment system offers a choice of more than 900 audio and video on demand options, available to every passenger in both cabins.

Qatar Airways currently operates a modern fleet of 94 aircraft to 98 key business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America.

The airline started off the year with a focus on Europe, launching three new destinations on the continent – Bucharest, Budapest and Brussels.

On March 6, Qatar Airways adds Stuttgart to its global network, followed on April 6 with new flights to the historic Syrian city of Aleppo – the airline’s milestone 100th destination. Flights to Shiraz, Qatar Airways’ third gateway in Iran begin on June 5, followed 10 days later on June 15 by scheduled services to Venice, the carrier’s third destination in Italy.

BA American Airlines partner agreement

American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia have partnered more closely on transatlantic flights through the creation of a joint business agreement.

Summer 2011 will bring even more benefits to customers as a result of the enhanced relationship among American Airlines, British Airways and Iberia when, for the first time ever, the airlines' schedules are coordinated for flights across the North Atlantic – including American's London express service with 15 flights per day from the New York city area to London.
The new schedule alignment, which begins March 27, means customers traveling between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and London Heathrow Airport (LHR) will benefit from more conveniently timed flights during peak periods in the late afternoon and evening. Customers will now have more ways to London – 15 flights a day in total between New York City (JFK/EWR) and London (LHR/LCY) – than ever before.

Previously, the 11 daily flights from JFK-LHR included five flights operated by American and British Airways that left at almost the same time. Now, those flights have been spread out to provide more departures at more desirable times throughout the day. For example, instead of the two morning flights from JFK in which both departed at 8:30 a.m., one will now depart at 8 a.m. and the other at 9:30 a.m., with both still arriving in London on the same day.

Through their joint business agreement, the participating oneworld airlines plan to work closely together to enhance travel on flights between North America and Europe, with plans to expand their global cooperation. And this relationship will extend further than simply providing new destinations.

For consumers, the agreement not only means more and better travel options but also more opportunities to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles and more convenient access to the airlines' combined airport lounges.

With antitrust immunity, American, British Airways and Iberia will be able to align their networks for North America-Europe travel by coordinating schedules, fares and operations, while sharing revenues and jointly marketing our frequent flyer programs, lounges and other services, offering customers seamless travel and enhanced rewards.

By working together the airlines will be better positioned to overcome the many challenges that the industry faces and to compete and adapt to the constantly changing aviation marketplace, creating better outcomes for customers and communities, employees and shareholders. Yet the individual airlines will continue to operate as separate entities with separate fleets, employees and brands.

June marks the launch of three routes – Iranian city of Shiraz (June 5), the carrier’s third city in Iran; Adriatic coastline city of Venice (June 15) becoming the airline’s third Italian gateway; and Montreal (June 29) being Qatar Airways’ first move into Canada with thrice-weekly flights non-stop from Doha.

The airline’s Doha hub feeds passenger and cargo traffic to all parts of the world, offering convenient connections across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America.
The daily Doha – Nairobi flights have increased to 12-flights-a-week. From January 3 2011, an additional two flights will take capacity up to double daily. The expansion comes after five successful years of operations to Kenya’s capital city.
The Tanzanian capital, Dar Es Salaam, receive an additional four flights a week from January 2 2011. An additional flight from February 14 will take frequency up to 12 weekly services.
Both routes are operated with an A320 aircraft, featuring 12 seats in Business Class and 132 in Economy.
The African continent is one of Qatar Airways’ largest markets by the number of destinations served – and the region alone makes up over 10% of the airline’s international network.
