Explore Lima, the "City of Kings"
Lima, the cradle of the Incan civilization, has all the irresistible Latin charm that characterizes the major metropolises of South America. A tour of this sprawling city gives us an insider’s view that not even the bulk of the residents are able to take in. The residential district of Miraflores offers a most welcome verdant oasis in the heart of a city where urbanization gains more and more terrain each year.

A change of decor for the historic center of Lima, Pizarro’s “City of Kings”, and a jewel of 16th and 17th colonial architecture that was designated a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1988. Lima boasts a large selection of museums, including the National Museum of Anthropology and Archeology and the Museo Larco, particularly recommended for getting an in-depth look at the history and culture of the country.

With the first rays of the summer sun, the beaches come alive and fill with a colorful array of surfers looking for thrills and workers seeking a cooling breeze far from the bustling city. At night, a visit to the Barranco district is a must with its trendy bars, clubs and shows that attract a chic, ready-to-party crowd.
