Avianca airline Bogota to MCO Florida flights

Avianca, a member of the Avianca / TACA Alliance plans to start direct flights between Orlando Airport (MCO) and Bogota Airport (BOG) beginning this summer. The new service will feature the A319 aircraft, which seats 120 passengers and will connect the two destinations with service four times per week.

Avianca’s addition of Orlando brings to five the total number of U.S. cities served by the airline including New York, Miami, Washington D.C. and Ft. Lauderdale. With Avianca, passengers will have access to numerous Central and South American markets including Caracas, Lima, Quito, Guayaquil, Sao Paulo, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires, Cali, Cartagena, and Medellin just to name a few.

“The addition of Avianca to Orlando International Airport further demonstrates the global popularity of the Central Florida market. Bringing this expanded international air service to our area is a collaborative effort with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and our community partners including the Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, Visit Orlando, Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Orlando Resorts”, says Cesar E. Calvet, Chairman of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

With approximately 70,500 Colombian’s living in the MCO catchment area, the Colombian demographic is the third largest Hispanic/Latino population in the Central Florida area behind Puerto Rican and Mexican.

Orlando International Airport has more non-stop domestic service than any other airport in Florida and has service to 25 non-stop international destinations.
