TAP Portugal ticket Prices Manchester to Lisbon

TAP Portugal has launched its inaugural flight from Manchester airport to Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, commencing today (June 1st).
The airline will run six non-stop flights a week offering full services in business and economy class. The new service has also allowed TAP to extend its flight offerings from other UK departure points to long haul destinations like New York JFK, Miami, Dakar, Caracas, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, with connections to other South American cities on flights operated by code-share partners. Other global business destinations such as Brasilia, Luanda and Dakar will also be reachable thanks to the new Manchester - Lisbon route.

ticket Prices start from £55 one way and include all taxes, on-board drinks & snacks, frequent flyer miles, generous free baggage allowances, free golf equipment carriage (up to 15kgs), advance seat selection, no charges for boarding passes or credit/debit card fees. In addition, there will be access to airport lounges (with some minor restrictions).
Early indications are that the new flight has received solid support from the market with a 75% load factor on today’s service and with approximately 15,000 customers booked over the coming months. Today’s flight has customers travelling to widely diverse destinations in Europe and South America such as Madeira, Porto, the Azores, Rio de Janeiro, Natal and Recife.
The new Manchester service joins Miami, Athens, Bordeaux, Vienna, Porto Alegre and Dusseldorf on the list of new destinations so far announced in 2011 by TAP with an increase of European destinations of over 17% to its previous coverage. Total destinations served by TAP Portugal from the summer will be 69, with further announcements due later in the year.
The business class flights from Lisbon will offer a great opportunity to develop links with Portugal. “The Lisbon connection also opens up destinations further afield, in particular those in South America. Manchester has already been working closely with Brazil for example, to promote Soccerex – the world’s international football convention, which has staged its last two European Forums here and its Global Convention in Rio de Janeiro. The increased connectivity now available via TAP Portugal can only help to enhance such business relationships between these destinations.”

Business travellers, particularly those in the Small/Medium sized category (SME) shall also be able to earn points within the Star Alliance Company Plus (SACP) programme, whereby frequent flyer can earn loyalty “Pluspoints” to trade in for earned free tickets, free upgrade to business class, cash back, quality gift items from the in-house Worldshop; as well as airport parking, limousine transfers, hotels and other programme partners. SACP membership is free to join with 13 STAR alliance airlines offering over 500 destinations to choose from. More details can be found at www.sacp.co.uk
