Bangkok to doha Qatar nonstop flight

Qatar Airways today announced a huge expansion in Thailand with the introduction of a third daily nonstop flight from Bangkok to doha, effective November 1st.

The DOH BKK service will facilitate increasing demand from many parts of the world, particularly European and North and South American customers for travel to Thailand. Qatar Airways’ Northern Winter schedule upgrades offer convenient connections for travellers both in and out of the Thai capital.

The airline will continue to operate the modern Airbus A330-200 airplane in a two-class seating configuration on the Bangkok route. The Business cabin has up to 24 seats that recline 160 degrees, while Economy features a maximum 259 seats.

The Airbus A330-200 features Qatar Airways’ award-winning Audio Video On Demand inflight entertainment system, allowing passengers in both classes to choose from an extensive list of international new release films and short programmes to view on their individual TV screens, and listen to an extensive list of CDs and radio channels.
The additional Bangkok service will continue to Vietnam with four of the flights heading onwards to the capital Hanoi and three onto Ho Chi Minh City.

Passengers originating in Thailand or Vietnam can also purchase tickets to fly between Bangkok and both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on Qatar Airways.

Beginning October 12, Qatar Airways introduces six-flights-a-week doha to Phuket via Kuala Lumpur. With the Bangkok flights, the airline’s Thai operations will step up from 21 to 27 flights a week across two destinations.

Qatar Airways has brought its Asian expansion plan into focus this year, adding three new destinations to its network in 2010 and boosting capacity and frequency across the entire region.

The travel market in Asia is experiencing significant growth and one which Al Baker stressed Qatar Airways was well placed to take advantage of.

“IATA statistics have passenger demand in the Asia Pacific region up over 10 per cent on the previous year. The timing of Qatar Airways’ expansion drive in Asia couldn’t be better to take advantage of this increase in traffic,” he added.

By 2013, Qatar Airways plans to serve 120 key business and leisure destinations worldwide with a modern fleet of 120 aircraft. Today, the airline’s fleet stands at 88 aircraft, flying to 92 destinations across Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North and South America.
